About Twiliner

What is Twiliner?

Twiliner is Europe's first night bus with real lie-flat seats. At the touch of a button, your seat transforms into a flat bed – ideal for sleeping, working, or relaxing. On board, you'll find a spacious restroom, a changing room, and a snack bar. And all this with up to 91% less CO₂ than flying.

Why travel with Twiliner?

Because travel should be enjoyable again. No airport stress, no security checks, no hotel nights. You board in the city center, sleep, work, or relax – and wake up at your destination at sunrise. Comfortable, climate-friendly, relaxed.

What routes do you offer?

We currently operate two routes with almost daily departures:

  1. Zurich – Basel – Luxembourg – Brussels – Rotterdam – Amsterdam
  2. Zurich – Bern – Girona – Barcelona

You can find more information about our travel destinations under Destinations. More destinations are already being planned. We aim to expand to 30 destinations in Europe within the next three years.

How climate-friendly is traveling with Twiliner?

According to a study by the German Environment Agency, long-distance coaches are the most environmentally friendly mode of transport for long-distance passenger travel. Our mission: to convince people who would otherwise have flown. Compared to flying, you save up to 91% CO₂ with us. Additionally, we run on HVO diesel – making us as climate-friendly as a night train. Going electric would be the ultimate goal. We're working on it.

Twiliner Experience
Sleeping, Comfort & Amenities

What makes the Twiliner seat so special?

Our seats are the first in Europe that can recline 100% flat into a sleeping position. An innovative safety system protects you in every position: sitting, semi-reclined, or fully flat.

Can I really sleep during the journey?

Yes – that's exactly what Twiliner is built for. Your seat transforms into a flat bed, and we provide a pillow and a cozy blanket. Before that, you can comfortably change in the changing room and get a soothing tea from the snack bar. Good night.

What amenities does the bus offer?

On the lower deck, you'll find a spacious restroom, a changing room, and a snack bar with a selection of drinks and snacks. At your seat, you have personal storage space, a small fold-out table, and a USB-C port. Water, coffee, and Wi-Fi are free.

Are there Wi-Fi and power outlets?

Yes. Wi-Fi is free, and every seat has a USB-C port. So you can work, stream, or listen to the last chapter of your favorite podcast before falling asleep.

Luggage, Bikes & Pets

How much luggage can I bring?

Included free with every Twiliner ticket:

  • 1 large checked bag (max. 23 kg, 80 × 50 × 35 cm)
  • 1 carry-on bag (max. 7 kg, 50 × 30 × 20 cm)

Please note: Storage space directly at your seat is limited. It's best to only bring a small bag or backpack to your seat. Need more? Additional luggage can be booked online or directly with the bus driver for an extra charge.

Can I bring my bike?

Unfortunately, we currently cannot transport regular bicycles or mountain bikes. Folding bikes are permitted – as extra luggage, under these conditions:

  • Folded and in a bag
  • Max. 65 × 65 × 30 cm
  • Max. 20 kg

Carriage is at your own risk – Twiliner accepts no liability for damages. We are working on being able to transport regular bicycles as well. Sign up for our list, and we'll inform you about test runs and new offers.

Can I bring special luggage such as skis, surfboards, or musical instruments?

Unfortunately, not yet. We know many people wish for this, and we are working on a solution.

Can I bring my dog?

Currently, dogs are not allowed on board – and yes, we're sad about it too. We are actively looking for a solution so that furry companions can travel with us soon.

Booking & Tickets

Can I change or cancel my booking?

Rebookings are not currently possible. Cancellations depend on the ticket type:

Are all seats the same, and can I choose my seat?

Yes, all our seats are the same, and you can choose your preferred seat directly during booking.

Are there breaks or border controls?
