Our work with mockups

Imagining a seat is one thing, but grasping it is even more challenging. To ensure that our seat is not only safe, but also comfortable and functional, we have been working with mockups since the beginning.

A mockup is a physical model or simplified prototype to represent the functions and features of a space or component. In our mockups, we check different aspects of our seat and its environment. The majority of them focused on seating positions, dimensions and sleeping comfort. These mockups allowed us to test solution decisions on the simplified object without having to wait for the already cost-intensive production.

Mockups representing the space situation of our seat within our coach interior were particularly helpful. Our new type of reclining seat in combination with the mostly standardised vehicle dimensions cannot be clarified anywhere else.

Overall, working with mockups helped us to get a better understanding of the experience of our future passengers and thus to develop an optimal version of our reclining seat. A reclining seat that is so comfortable that you might even want to lie down and rest at your destination.
